UNQUIET NATURE ~ LAND & SEA

I have a date for your diaries - the first weekend in November. Just a month to go until my exhibition of seascape paintings - “Unquiet Nature - Land & Sea”

I started to frame up the finished paintings today.

It’s been lovely to revisit favourite coastal places through my work. We’ve been unexpectedly landlocked for a couple of months after my partner John fell and broke his ankle on a rest stop on our way home from Kent. He’s on the mend now and fingers crossed we’ll head to the sea again after my exhibition 🤞

Hopefully my paintings will spark memories for you too, from Summer trips to the sea.

The exhibition takes place in the Art space linked to my studio block, Northlight where I’m lucky enough to work. It’s for one weekend only and after that, remaining paintings will be for sale through my website. More details of the new works to follow later this month

Warmly,

Kate B.

New print Leeds Liverpool Canal at Saltaire

*GIVEAWAY TIME**
I wanted to share a bit of cheer with all you lovely folks at this time and thought what better way than an Art Giveaway. I had this in mind a couple of months ago when I reached 1000 followers. I then completed my first townscape painting in a long while and thought that a print giveaway would be a nice way to celebrate. The original painting “Leeds Liverpool Canal At Saltaire” was delivered to the fab @giddy_arts gallery in Saltaire not long before the lockdown but I am running a limited edition print in three sizes and have just added it to the shop section of my website at www.kateboyce.co.uk

The original painting depicts the Leeds Liverpool Canal running through the world famous Salts Mill in Saltaire near Bradford. The miil, opened in 1853, was once the largest factory in the world and Sir Titus Salt built a village to house and cater for his workforce. The mill now houses a permanent gallery featuring original work by David Hockney and the surrounding village is a World Heritage Site.

Future Exhibition at Studio Gallery, Settle.

I am currently working on new original paintings for an exhibition at the Studio Gallery in Settle. This is scheduled to commence in June but owing to the present situation, This may be rescheduled. New works will include paintings inspired by familiar scenery of the Yorkshire Dales.

Work available to purchase through websites

Just a reminder that work is still available through various galleries websites including

Cook House Galleries in the Lake District, Hope Gallery in Batley and Water St Gallery in Todmorden.

Where I'm At

February has been a wet and wild month. The Calder valley has been ravaged by floods causing heartache and disruption for so many. What could be more fitting as an antidote to the relentless grey than an eyeful of colour!

Here are three examples of available original paintings currently on the walls of my studio. If you are interested in any of these pieces and would like to make an appointment to come and view please contact me via the website contact us. There is no obligation to buy but I can offer an instalment option should you be interested in purchasing any of them. I have a new stockist for my original paintings, the Blue Tree Gallery in York. Please see the stockist list to find a link to their website and address. If you don’t already follow me on Instagram, please do so using the links on this site. This will give you more regular updates as to my work in progress and upcoming events.
